Born in the late nineteen twenties to a middleclass family in (then) British India, Prashant Mukherjee had a keen interest to study Law, and was elected for the DSP rank in the police department. He soon realised the discriminations an Indian had to face in their own country when they asked for basic rights such as education. He therefore rejected the offer, to fight for the freedom and equality of his countrymen. He had a vision to impart education to not only the elite classes but especially to the ones who were deprived and underprivileged. After gaining inspiration from his visit to Moscow, Russia, he commenced the idea here in Dumka, to kindle the light of Education & Knowledge.

Sido Kanhu High School, formerly known “Sishu Niketan School” started with a total of five students, under the leadership and guidance of our founder and it was in the year 1992 that our director ma’am had joined the school’s management. Ever since her joining SidoKanhu has seen new high of development. She has a total of twenty eight years of experience in the field of education and managing the organisation. Other than the field of education, she also was a member of Lok Adalat and active member of, the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 ("POSH Act") both elected by the High Court of Ranchi, Jharkhand. She also serves the society through her altruistic works along with the help of Lion’s Club International and had been the EX-secretory of Lion’s Club Dumka.

Pradiptah Mukherjee, son of late Prashant Mukherjee, holds a prestigious degree of MA. LLB, and doctorate on alternative medicine. He got an opportunity to work with a British law firm in London, and turned it down to support the vision of this late father, who wanted to work for the development of Santhal Pargana, Dumka. He has a total work experience of thirty-four years in the field of education. He is the Vice-precedent of CBSE Sahodaya School Complex, Dumka and Jamtara chapter. He has an keen interest in the field of sports and is the Vice-precedent of “Wrestling Association”, Dumka district, Joint secretory of “Hockey Federation” Dumka district and was the Ex- secretory of “The Bharat scoutand guide”. He also actively takes part in the welfare and development of the society as he is a life-long member of the Indian Red Cross Society and had been the EX-zonal precedent of Lion’s Club International.

Education is child-centered here and singing, mimicry, playing, dramatization echo in the campus. To include moral values in the students, the school starts each working day with the morning assembly that includes various patriotic songs, thought for the day, Quotations, Extempore speech and even items from the Tiny Tot's Section.
